Being a farmer isn't an easy job. It takes heart and hard work. We, at AFSC, want to thank Alberta's farmers for their drive, dedication and determination while giving them a much-needed break during harvest.

We teamed up with Big Country 93.1 FM, River Country 94.9 FM, River Country 102.1 FM in the north, 840 CFCW in central Alberta, and New Country 105.7 in Brooks and area to bring meals in the field to producers this harvest season.

AFSC is proud to bring the AFSC Farmer Feed: Meals in the Field to northern Alberta producers/farmers. An entire team, including representatives from AFSC and our partners, will show up at the lucky winner’s farm for a relaxing harvest break.

September 4: The Brochu Family, Smoky River

The Farmer Feed team stopped by the Brochu family’s Smoky River Valley campsite for a festive harvest break. The Brochu family and their guests enjoyed live entertainment by Jaydee Bixby and delicious food provided by Hines Creek Catering.

September 11: Corson Fairless, Grimshaw

The Farmer Feed crew joined Corson Fairless and guests in the Grimshaw area on for a joyful harvest celebration, featuring entertainment by Jaydee Bixby and catering by Hines Creek.​

September 18: Adam & Allison Laliberte, Fairview

September 18 marked a visit from the Farmer Feed squad to Adam & Allison Laliberte in the Faiview area. Guests gathered to celebrate the harvest with music by Jaydee Bixby and a hearty meal from Hines Creek Catering.

September 25: Anderson Farms, Sexsmith

The Farmer Feed gang had the pleasure of visiting Anderson Farms in the Sexsmith area. The event featured lively performances by Jaydee Bixby and a delicious spread from Hines Creek Catering.

Meals in the Field – Central Alberta

September 4: Mark Fedoretz, Smoky Lake

It was a day of celebration as the Meals in the Field crew visited Mark Fedoretz in the Smoky Lake area. Guests enjoyed a relaxing harvest break with music and food by Stawnichy’s Mundare Sausage.

September 11: Mike & Janet Gartner, Strome

The Meals in the Field team brought the harvest spirit to Mike and Janet Gartner in the Strome area. Guests were treated to entertainment and a mouthwatering meal from Stawnichy’s Mundare Sausage.

September 18: Derek & Jordana Saskiw, Innisfree

Celebrating the season, the Meals in the Field squad visited Derek & Jordana Saskiw in the Innisfree area. The gathering featured Morning Man Dan Davidson and a delicious meal catered by Stawnichy’s Mundare Sausage.

September 25: George & Gail Slusarczyk, Warburg

The Meals in the Field gang headed to Warburg area to visit George & Gail Slusarczyk. Together with their guests, the Slusarczyks enjoyed a festive harvest break with entertainment from Morning Man Dan Davidson and tasty dishes from Stawnichy’s Mundare Sausage.

The Meals in the Field squad visited the Vossepoel family in the Tilley area, where the Vossepoels and their guests enjoyed a well-deserved harvest break with music by Amy Hef and food from Stick a Fork in it BBQ.

September 11: Bruce and Janice Christensen, Brooks

It was a memorable day for Bruce and Janice Christensen in Brooks area as the Meals in the Field gang arrived for a harvest celebration. Brad Sims provided the entertainment while Stick a Fork in it BBQ served up a delicious meal.

September 18: Joe Stadnicki & Randy Stadnicki and family, Jenner

The Meals in the Field team made a visit to Joe Stadnicki and Randy Stadnicki and family in the Jenner area. The event was filled with conversation, music from Travis Dolter, and a fantastic meal courtesy of Stick a Fork in it BBQ.

The Meals in the Field crew joined Colin and Barbara McNiven and family and their guests in the Hutton area for the final Meals in the Field harvest break of the year. Travis Dolter kept the crowd entertained while Stick a Fork in it BBQ served up a feast.
