Being a farmer isn't an easy job. It takes heart and hard work. We, at AFSC, want to thank Alberta's farmers for their drive, dedication and determination while giving them a much-needed break during harvest.

We teamed up with Big Country 93.1 FM, River Country 94.9 FM, River Country 102.1 FM in the north, 840 CFCW in central Alberta, and New Country 105.7 (Brooks and area), Wild 95.5 and Wild 94.5 in the south to bring meals in the field to producers this harvest season.

AFSC Farmer Feed – North

AFSC is proud to bring the AFSC Farmer Feed: Meals in the Field to northern Alberta producers/farmers. An entire team, including representatives from AFSC and our partners, will show up at the lucky winner’s farm for a relaxing harvest break.

And don’t worry – we’re bringing the food and entertainment with us.

September 5: Shane & Julie Radomske, Bezanson area

On September 5, the AFSC Farmers Feed team visited the Radomskes in the Bezanson area. The Radomske family and their guests enjoyed a harvest break complete with entertainment by Jaydee Bixby and food by Hines Creek Catering.

September 12: Brad & Elise Turcotte, Guy area

On September 12, the AFSC Farmers Feed team headed out to the Guy area to visit the Turcottes. The Turcottes and their guests enjoyed a harvest break complete with entertainment by Jaydee Bixby and food by Hines Creek Catering.

September 19: Campbell Rock Ltd., Grimshaw area

On September 19, the AFSC Farmers Feed team visited the Campbell Rock crew in the Grimshaw area. The Campbell Rock crew and their guests enjoyed a harvest break complete with entertainment by Jaydee Bixby and food by Hines Creek Catering.

September 26: Kathy Meyer & family, Spirit River area

On September 26, the AFSC Farmers Feed team headed out to the Spirit River area to visit Kathy Meyer and family. Kathy and her guests enjoyed a harvest break complete with entertainment by Jaydee Bixby and food by Hines Creek Catering.

Central

Meals in the Field – Central Alberta

AFSC is proud to work with 840 CFCW to bring Meals in the Field to central Alberta producers. An entire team, including 840 CFCW, AFSC, Meridian Manufacturing, Rig Hand Distillery and Stawnichy’s Mundare Sausage, will show up at the lucky winner’s farm for a relaxing harvest break.

And don’t worry – we’re bringing the food and entertainment with us.

September 5: Larson family, Viking area

On September 5, the 840 CFCW Meals in the Field team headed out to visit the Larson family from the Viking area. The Larson family and their guests enjoyed a harvest break complete with entertainment by Morning Man Dan Davidson and food by Stawnichy’s Mundare Sausage with dessert from Fife N Dekel.

September 12: Peter & Teri Smerychunski, Westlock area

On September 12, the 840 CFCW Meals in the Field team visited the Smerychunskis from the Westlock area. The Smerychunskis and their guests enjoyed a harvest break complete with entertainment by Morning Man Dan Davidson and food by Stawnichy’s Mundare Sausage with dessert from Fife N Dekel.

AFSC is proud to work with New Country 105.7 – Brooks to bring Meals in the Field to our southern Alberta producers in the Brooks area. An entire team, including New Country 105.7 and AFSC, will show up at the lucky winner’s farm for a relaxing harvest break.

On September 12, the New Country 105.7 – Brooks team headed out to the Philpott Honey Bee Farm in the Brooks area. The group learned a little bit about honey production and enjoyed a harvest break complete with entertainment by Jason Kirkness and food by Stick a Fork in it BBQ.

 

September 19: John and Jackie Kay Cline, Millicent area

On September 19, the New Country 105.7 – Brooks team visited the Clines from the Millicent area. The Clines and their guests enjoyed a harvest break complete with entertainment by Travis Dolter and food by Stick a Fork in it BBQ.

September 26: Ryder Zacharias, Rosemary area

On September 26, the New Country 105.7 – Brooks team headed out to visit Ryder Zacharias of the Rosemary area. Ryder and his guests enjoyed a harvest break complete with entertainment by Travis Dolter and food by Stick a Fork in it BBQ.

AFSC Farmer Feed – South

AFSC is proud to bring the AFSC Farmer Feed: Meals in the Fields to southern Alberta producers/farmers who are outside the Brooks and New Country 105.7 listenership area. An entire team, including representatives from AFSC and our partners, including Wild 95.5 and 94.5, will show up at the lucky winner’s farm for a relaxing harvest break.

And don’t worry – we’re bringing the food and entertainment with us.
