The bags aren't packed yet, but planning is in full swing for the 2025 AFSC 4-H Alberta Ag Next Generation, July 14 to 23.

This summer adventure will give a group of standout 4-H Alberta members a front-row seat to the agriculture industry — with behind-the-scenes access to some of Alberta’s most innovative farms, agribusinesses and local food operations.

Sixteen youth were selected for this year’s tour during 4-H Alberta’s Spring Senior Symposium, held May 2 and 3 at Olds College. The annual event welcomed 125 senior members for a weekend of leadership building, health and wellness sessions and, of course, official trip selections. Tour delegates were chosen based on 4-H involvement, diary points, peer collaboration, and their all-in participation throughout the symposium.

AFSC is proud to support a program that builds knowledge and inspires leadership and connection in the next generation of producers.

Connecting youth to Alberta agriculture

AFSC partners with 4-H Alberta on both the Spring Senior Symposium and the Ag Next Generation Tour. These initiatives are fit with the AFSC purpose — working together to grow and sustain the agriculture industry in Alberta.

Several AFSC branches will host the tour for a short stop and conversation. Youth will get a chance to learn how AFSC supports producers, explore career options and meet the people who help keep Alberta agriculture growing.

Looking ahead

The Ag Next Generation Tour is just one of many youth-focused programs AFSC supports through its sponsorship and community investment strategy. We believe in helping Alberta’s young people see what’s possible in this industry — and giving them opportunities to lead, learn and grow.

Watch for more updates from the road as the 2025 tour gets rolling in July.
