The Wildlife Predator Compensation Program provides compensation to farmers and ranchers whose livestock are killed or injured by wildlife predators.

Producers in this situation should contact their nearest Fish and Wildlife office as soon as possible to report the loss. The Fish and Wildlife officer may request that carcasses are moved or covered to prevent the evidence from being lost to scavenging. The officer will examine the livestock and evidence from the area to confirm whether a predator killed or injured the animal.

AFSC is partnering with Government of Alberta departments to ensure producers receive timely payments for livestock impacted.

The Wildlife Predator Compensation Program is funded through the AgriInsurance agreement between the federal and provincial government.
