For more than 80 years, AFSC has played an integral role in supporting and making a difference in Alberta communities. AFSC believes in directing our sponsorship and community initiatives efforts through support of organizations and initiatives that generate value to the communities we serve.

Applications to receive funding from AFSC’s Sponsorship & Community Initiatives program are open year round, but all applications must be received a minimum of 60 days prior to the start of the first day of the initiative.

The online application will take approximately 20 minutes to complete, depending on the scope of your application. Please allow enough time to complete the application in one sitting, as you cannot go back into the application once you close the browser window. AFSC accepts online applications only.

Once you have submitted your application, you will be taken to a confirmation page indicating that your application has been submitted for review. Applicants will be notified of application status (declined or accepted) within approximately three weeks of the application being received.

  • At AFSC, we concentrate our community investment efforts to align with the following focus areas: agriculture; education, outreach & training; and community well-being.
    • Agriculture: supporting the business of, or the advancement of the agriculture, agribusiness and agri-food industry, or the next generation of agriculture.
    • Education, Outreach & Training: supporting initiative and services that contribute to awareness and increased knowledge related to agriculture, agriculture financial literacy and agriculture risk management.
    • Community Well-Being: initiatives that engage our local operating areas, build community capacity, and/or contribute to healthy vibrant agriculture communities and workplace environments.

    • Definitions:
      Sponsorship: Strategic partnerships negotiated with an organization or event who has an audience that AFSC is interested in connecting with. Marketing is the primary purpose of a sponsorship and success is measured by the return on investment to AFSC in the form of brand awareness, business connections, and audience reach. A sponsor will receive benefits and the cost of the sponsorship can be used a business expense.
      Donation: A tax-deductible financial contribution made to a non-profit organization, registered charity, association or foundation, in support of Albertan’s greater good and does not require AFSC to receive goods or services in return. The donor does not get anything in return except a tax receipt that proves the amount donated to the organization.
      In-Kind: Resources to support an organization or program. These may include employee time, services, promotional items, etc.
